Synopsis: Kylor J. Campbell, a social worker who grew up in Blackridge Hollow, Ontario, hasn't quite figured his life out. After putting his family home up for sale, he stumbles into Maggie Wallace, an older woman from a local farm on the outskirts of town in desperate need of a barn hand. Together, they decide to start up Blackridge Guidance Farm, a place for troubled, young people to learn how to face their pasts and deal with various mental health issues. Eventually, Kylor is introduced to Ophelia Ashburn, a new resident with severe anxiety. While getting to know her, he realizes that she’s far more intelligent than her parents initially let on. Additionally, weird and unexplainable things begin to happen around the farm.
Throughout the story, Kylor struggles to help his young residents and is constantly questioning his unusual friendship with Maggie. He knows she has secrets, but no idea how strongly related to the strange happenings they truly are. Strange happenings that could potentially threaten the lives of those he was meant to help. While trying to make sense of it all and piece together a confusing puzzle, he unexpectedly develops a sexual and romantic relationship with Ophelia.

Synopsis: Beginning in the year 2025, the first book in this dystopian romance series introduces a group of individuals with exceptional intellect known as Valued Intelligent Workers and details the events leading up to a horrific devastation in 2030 which changes the course of not only their lives, but the rest of the world.
